Here is a great success story:

My mother was having a lot of health problems. Most notably was: High blood pressure, high cholesterol, stomach problems, fatigue & nerve problems. Her doctor ran extensive tests so it was all documented. Mom was fed up with feeling lousy so she decided to try a natural, holistic 30 day cleanse and raw food diet. She was very dedicated to the raw cleansing program and felt amazing after 30 days. At this point she had quit taking her blood pressure medication too. Mom had a great deal more energy and seemed happier. She went back to the doctor again and he ran all the same tests. This time, the tests showed a dramatic difference: Low cholesterol & low blood pressure (with no medication). The doctor was impressed and wanted to know how she did it. Mom explained what she did. The doctor just looked at her with eyes glazed over.

Quite some time after this my Mom fell off of her healthy, raw eating program. All of her symptoms came back and stomach problems were rampant. So she visited the doctor once more and he diagnosed her with H. Pylori (a stomach bacteria). The doctor prescribed 3 intense antibiotics to be taken simultaneously. He told her to come back for a check up in about a month.

My mom was concerned about these antibiotics so she called me up to ask me if I had heard of any "natural" cures for H. Pylori Bacteria. Interestingly enough, a raw food teacher in my area had just given a talk about this only 2 days prior. This raw teacher spoke about a specific kind of natural herbal medicine used widely in Europe. I relayed this information to my Mom. It was her choice. If she wanted to take the antibiotics, then she could. Or, if there was no reason to rush things, she could take the natural medicine for a month and see what happens. It wasn't like her life was in danger or anything. So she decided to give the natural cure a try.

During these 30 days she switched back to healthier, raw food eating. Her stomach issues began to disappear. Finally, she had her follow-up doctors appointment. The doctor tested her for H. Pylori bacteria again. Mom didn't say a word to him about what she had done. She just allowed him to believe she had taken all the antibiotics. 2 weeks later she saw the doctor again and he relayed the good news: The test results were in. She was H.Pylori free. "The antibiotics worked", he said. That is when my Mom broke the news to him. She explained that she hadn't taken the antibiotics at all, she opted for this natural cure and raw eating. This doctor just gave her a blank stare and didn't respond. We will never know if he actually chose to hear what she said or not.

Ah.....the raw food diet. It is wonderful, so why did I ever stop? My apprehension about starting this diet in the first place was huge. I thought to myself; "How would I ever survive without my dark chocolate, potato chips, pasta & tacos"? And what about all the munching that I love to do between meals. WHAT, AM I SUPPOSED TO EAT? CARROTS? NO, NO, NO! My mind was just full of doubt. Yet, I knew that this was something that I must try because my body was crying out for help, healing, and a better way other than taking pills (which just mask the real physical problems). I knew that now was the time to take action. I had to just TRY a new way which would could have the potential to bring me some relief from my health problems.

THANK GOD for my Daughter! After listening to me rant and rave about how I could not do it, and how I just don't crave rabbit food (and in fact am turned off by the thought of it), my daughter packed me into the car and took me to a raw food cooking/demonstration class. I walked into this strange persons house and I was taken aback by all the paraphernalia sitting on this women's kitchen counter: Jars, cans, blenders, strainers, juicers, mixers, dehydrators, jars and jars of what looked like nuts, grains, seeds, sprouting masses of green stuff! I thought to myself, "I would go crazy with all this clutter in MY KITCHEN!"

Thinking back on it now, I have to chuckle because here's the truth; I actually am that person now with a kitchen filled with the most fun and unusual equipment! And guess what? my chocolate was replaced by the real thing with spices which could only remind a person of that movie, "Chocolat". All my potato chips were replaced with the most tasty dried crackers which I top with different Pates' like Avocado and lime, red bell pepper and spices. My pasta now is the biggest bowl of white zucchini (shaped into noodles) which I cut with a spiralizer. Then I top it with sauces like marinara and/or Alfredo. "Raw tacos" are the absolute best! The vegan walnut pate tastes just like taco meat. No kidding! And I top that with all the usual salsas, toppings and guacamole's. Vegan style raw sushi takes on another dimension of colors when it comes to raw food. You can dip in hot spicy dips and spicy "mayonnaise." The taste could not be any better!

Hmmmm. . .all of this reminiscing has given me inspiration to become one with my kitchen again and start eating all that I want. Why? Because with raw food, YOU CAN! Check out the recipe section in this web site. . .DO IT, start eating for health TODAY! Diane
