The topic of protein is actually a long one. Most of what we think we know about it is based on myth. I will post a more in depth article on the raw foods page. The bottom line is that we don't actually need as much protein as we were led to believe. And protein is made up of amino acids which you can get from raw food. Here are a few great sources of raw food protein: 1) Chlorella / Spirulina 2) Nuts and seeds such as almonds, pumpkin seeds,walnuts, sunflower, sesame, etc. 3) Sprouts 4) sprouted seed grains such as buckwheat or quinoa 5) Nut Butters 6) Hemp Seeds 7) Dark green, leafy vegetables
So for example, if you eat a nice salad full of dark, leafy greens, top it with an avocado and sprinkle it with Hemp Seeds...... you are getting your protein.
